Like many Eve players, I have a Jita market alt.  Unlike many Eve players, most of my characters develop distinct personalities.  Interestingly, I have no idea what these personalities will be until we’re actually in game together interacting with the world around us.  Being a mere market alt, JitaAlt (name changed to protect anonymity) hasn’t directly interacted much with others meaning she hasn’t developed much personality.  Today, thanks to daily opportunities, I got to learn a little about her.

This morning, confronted with a small task a couple of jumps away, JitaAlt Impairored up to complete the chore.  With undertaking undertook, we ambled back to Jita via asteroid belt hops looking for rat to stomp ‘cause now that nets you 10,000 skill points.  Belt 1, nothing.  Belt 2, empty.  Belt 3, vacant.  Belt 4, no rats but we do see young Mena Khanid (name not changed because we’re beasts) off in the distance mining in a Venture.  In addition, we see Mena Kahnid’s empty Bestower just a few meters away.

“I wonder if I can fly that?” asks JitaAlt.

“Best way to find out is to try and hop in,” I reply.

So she does.

“Looks like you can fly it.  Now whatcha gonna do?” I ask.

“I wanna keep it,” she says.

So she does.

Back in Jita, we take a quick look/see at her trophy.

“What should I do?” JitaAlt asks me.

“I suppose you ought to reply,” I say.

Are you kidding? It’s damn funny. I did not know whether it is possible to sit in someone else’s ship until this moment, so thank you for the answer.

I hope you like this ship, fly safe o7

“But how did Mena know it was I who stole his Bestower?” asks JitaAlt.

“Leaving an empty boat named ‘JitaAlt’s Impairor’ at the scene of the crime probably gave Mena good clue,” I explain.  “Next time, rename your boat first.”

“I see,” she replies.

So she does.

The take away?  JitaAlt never did get around to earning her 10,000 skill points but a little unplanned interactive fun was had and I did learn she carries a streak of larceny in her heart but isn’t mean spirited about it.
